1st Global Youth Justice Institute and Staff Retreat

This 1st Global Youth Justice Institute and Retreat is designed for the adult staff who currently or have previously have worked full-time and/or part-time in local youth justice programs in a wide range of capacities to include operational, administrative, and/or in support capacities such as board members and key volunteers.  Peer training and sharing will be a primary focus of this 1st Global Youth Justice Institute and Staff retreat.  Topics will include funding, grant writing, improving and managing community service and volunteer training, implementing and enhancing state coalitions/networks, program sustainability, obtaining resources associated with the service and volunteer networks, supporting the professional advancement of careers in local youth court and teen court programs, and other much more. 

 

Participants attending will assist with peer education, training and sharing given the collegial approach to the 1st Global Youth Justice Institute.  Don't miss out on this new and exciting annual event that promises to become a tradition.  Start planning now to join your peers in the exciting New England quaint setting of Provincetown, Cape Cod.   Affordable rates have been negotiated with the beachside resort to make this a must for adults involved in youth court, teen court, peer court, student court, youth peer panels, and peer juries.  Trainers and facilitators include some of the leading voices of the Global Youth Justice Movement.  This event is sponsored and organized by Global Youth Justice, LLC.

 

Registration is now open.  Early registration only costs $195.00 and ends on May 10, 2010.  After May 10, registration costs $225.00.  The registration includes 5 meals and 5 snack breaks!  May 13, 2010 is the last day to make reservations at the Provincetown Inn in Cape Cod at the low negotiated contractual rates secured by Global Youth Justice, LLC – don’t miss out.   Registration is easy – just complete the two (2) page registration form and mail it to Global Youth Justice, LLC with your registration fee.  You will receive confirmation within 10 days and at that time you will receive the “Conference Code” to make your reservation at the Oceanside Resort in Cape Cod for only $99 per night for standard room and only $125 for an ocean view room and those rates include all taxes.  You must be a paid registrant to book your rooms at these low rates.  Don’t miss out!

The 2010 International Training to Establish a Youth Court or Teen Court

This International Training is designed for those who are interested in establishing a local youth court, teen court, peer court, student court, youth peer panel, peer juries and for those who are relatively new to these programs.  Topics to be covered include training adult and youth volunteers, offering quality community service programs, mock family intake meetings, implementing and enhancing operational and administrative procedures, identifying funding and resources opportunities, program evaluation and referral sources.   This training will support the mission of Global Youth Justice, LLC by promoting the global expansion of juvenile justice programs commonly referred to as youth court, teen court, peer court, student court, youth peer jury, and youth peer panel".  This event is sponsored and organized by Global Youth Justice, LLC.  Registration opens in July of 2010 on www.globalyouthjustice.org.

August 5-9, 2011 in Kobe, Japan in 2011.

The 2009 National Training to Establish or Enhance a local Youth Court or Teen Court

March 30-31, 2009

Cleveland, Ohio, USA

This national training drew participants from more than fifty (50) municipalities in seventeen (17) different states to include Florida, Wisconsin, New York, Texas, South Carolina, Tennessee, Michigan, Illinois, New Mexico, Washington, DC, South Dakota, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maine, Ohio and others.  This was the largest national training to establish or enhance a local Youth Court or Teen Court in more than four (4) years.  This national training supported the mission of Global Youth Justice, LLC by promoting the global expansion of juvenile justice programs commonly referred to as youth court, teen court, peer court, student court, youth peer jury, and youth peer panel.  Nancy Miller (Wisconsin), Gary Kepley (Illinois), Karen and David Garcia (New Mexico) and Scott B. Peterson, President and Founder, Global Youth Justice, LLC served as the trainers and speakers.
