Description:           CAP is the Acronym for a new volunteer-driven Criminal Justice System Diversion Program called Community Acceptance Program for Adults ages 18+ who have committed a Crime, Offense and/or Violation.  The Community Acceptance Program operates in local jurisdictions by public and/or private Criminal Justice Agencies and Organizations and is primarily for 1st and 2nd Time Offenders in Lieu of Arrest, Conviction and/or Incarceration.  Local communities determine where the CAP program fits in within their criminal justice process, what are the referral sources and types of referrals, which are typically not violent, psychological and/or sexual in nature.

With historic-high adult incarceration rates and millions of adults arrested annually, especially those poor and those with a disease, the CAP program allows adult community leaders an opportunity to reduce arrest, conviction and/or incarceration rates by implementing a new Community Acceptance Program using a volunteer-driven local community-based approach. These Criminal Justice System  Diversion programs called CAP are very affordable as a result of their volunteer-driven operational approach. These programs also strengthen local communities by bringing adult volunteers together to improve their communities in a proactive tangible manner.
